Switchboard is a multimedia alternate reality game (ARG) and workshop exploring the experience of interdisciplinary scholarship. The presentation, performance, and discussion will highlight the process of becoming an interdisciplinary scholar as an experience of alienation and act of resistance against the myth of a hyper-individualist exceptionalism that pervades the academy. Using participatory ritual, game design processes that privilege collaboration, and several distinct knowledge bases, this event seeks to produce interdisciplinary collaboration and community with participants.

The M.S. Design + Innovation is pleased to offer this program as a part of our 2023-24 “Becoming Transdisciplinary: Embracing Hybridity and Beyond” event series.
